Business Internet in Los Angeles: A Market Guide for 2026

Los Angeles is a strange internet market. On paper, you have four carriers competing. In practice, your address decides everything. Two buildings on the same block can have very different options.

Here is what the market actually looks like in 2026, and what you should pay.

Who serves what

Spectrum Business has the widest footprint in the metro. If your office is in a strip mall, a small commercial building, or a mixed-use zone, Spectrum is probably lit. Coax up to 1 Gig down. Upload speeds are slow. Symmetric fiber is available in some buildings but not most.

AT&T Business is the fiber incumbent. AT&T Business Fiber runs in a lot of LA, but the map is patchy. Century City, downtown, Culver City, parts of Santa Monica, and stretches of the Valley are well covered. Older industrial areas near Vernon and the port often are not.

Frontier Business picked up the old Verizon FiOS footprint years ago and has been building out. In the South Bay, Long Beach, and parts of the San Gabriel Valley, Frontier fiber is often the cheapest symmetric option. Ask.

Then there is Crown Castle, Zayo, and Wilcon on the wholesale fiber side. If you are in a downtown tower or a large commercial building, one of them is likely in the basement. Their pricing beats retail carriers when you need real bandwidth.

What you should pay

Here are the ranges we see on real bills across LA in 2026.

Cable, 500 Mbps down, 35 up (Spectrum Business): $195 to $340 a month. If you are over $340, you have room to negotiate. Under $220 is a good deal.

Fiber, 500x500 Mbps (AT&T or Frontier): $340 to $625 a month. The spread is wide because building access matters. A building with three fiber carriers competing runs cheaper than a single-provider tower.

Fiber, 1 Gig symmetric: $525 to $895 a month for the retail carriers. Wholesale fiber in a lit building can hit $650 for the same speed.

Dedicated internet (DIA), 1 Gig: $1,100 to $1,800 a month. This is the tier where you get an SLA, a static IP block, and someone who answers the phone at 2 AM.

If your quote is well above these ranges, something is off. Either the building has poor competition, or the sales rep is testing you.

The coverage gaps

The parts of LA where competition breaks down: Vernon, Commerce, parts of the port district, older industrial buildings in the eastern Valley, and pockets of South LA. In these zones you often have Spectrum and nothing else on the retail side. Fiber build quotes run $15,000 to $80,000 in construction charges.

If you are in one of these zones, the play is to get a fixed wireless quote from a local operator before you sign a long cable contract. Fixed wireless in LA is real, and it beats being stuck.

Contract terms that matter

Three-year terms are standard. One-year terms exist but the price goes up. Month to month is available at Spectrum, but you pay for the flexibility.

The auto-renew clause is where LA carriers get you. Miss the 60 or 90 day window and you roll into another term, often at a higher rate. Put the date in your calendar the day you sign.
